Gideros mobile ide how to#
Covers how to export your application too. Deployment - Deploying Gideros Player to a real device. For more information, see Gideros plugins in Developer Center This section contains most important Gideros Studio documentation. GameCenter, SQLite, Flurry, Storekit and Bitop are some of the plugins that come with Gideros Studio. This way it’s possible to call the library functions under Lua, get the results and interpret them directly under Gideros Studio.
Gideros mobile ide android#
Native iOS & Android plugin support: Gideros Studio has a very powerful feature which enables developers to use a C/C++/Java/ObjC library next to Lua.Gideros is bundled with many powerful components to create applications easily: Upcoming development environment features: Instant testing over Wi-Fi on real device.Powerful IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and object oriented language.
Gideros mobile ide code#
During the build, Gideros Studio translates your code from Lua to native code of the targeted platform. Gideros Studio helps you organize resources, prevent mistakes and provide shorter ways throughout development process. Gideros Studio comes with an IDE, enabling faster development of applications. Then again not many 2D games need 2000+ moving sprites - yet I seem to hit that black box more and more often of late. Sometimes I just wish I could peek inside Unity's black box and fiddle with a few things here and there. Get everything you need from the start, including lightweight IDE, players for Desktop and devices, Texture packer, Font Creator and there are also lots of 3rd party tools.

I reckon I could coax much more out of MonoGame or Moia but I'm so comfy with Unity it's hard to even contemplate using something else now. Gideros provides its own class system with all the basic OOP standards, enabling you to write clean and reusable code for any of your future games. I spent about a week trying different solutions (including profiling most of the asset store 2d solutions) and finally hacked up a custom 2D system in Unity using vertex shaders that'll run about 2500 interdependently controlled moving/rotating sprites (all on screen at one) at 60fps on a 800Mhz Arm CPU with iPhone 3GS era GPU (ES 2.0 of course, ES 1.x has no vertex shaders). This is mostly because the gameobject overhead in Unity punches mobile processors in the face.

Mostly because 2D in Unity is a bit of a pain in the ass, all the 2D asset store frameworks have terrible performance. I've been eyeing Moia just today actually, as well as MonoGame (Mono port of XNA for Android/iOS/WinPhone7/Mac/Win/Metro/Linux/NCAI.).
